I am honored to have been chosen by my Leadership Shelby Classmates as the 2022 Leadership Shelby Class President for the next year.
Over the past 9 months, I have gotten to know my classmates, each of them Shelby County Servant Leaders. We have become a family as we started out at the opening retreat and dealing with Simsoc (Go Team Yellow), curious cows and the historic Bagdad Roller Mill on Ag Day, learning about the excellent Health care services we are blessed to have in Shelby County, as well as the phenomenal education system that is here for Shelby County students.
Directing traffic for the 2021 Turkey Trot and hearing from our Judges about our Judicial system, and seeing firsthand the workings of our County Jail, and Sheriff’s Office. Hearing from our local Government leaders, going to Frankfort to meet our legislators, Attorney General, and tour our beautiful State Capitol.
Learning about all the fascinating industry that happens right here in Shelby County, from Rocking Chairs to Rocking Chairs. Aerospace components, Capri Sun packets and automobile parts. Our Shelby County tourism, wonderful Parks, the Outlet Mall of the Bluegrass and Bulleit Distillery. Touring Grove Hill Cemetery (and solving a mystery), the Public Library and seeing the beginning of Lacy, Zach, and Sally’s acting careers at Shelby County Community Theatre learning about Shelby County's fascinating history and finishing up at Wakefield Scearce Gallery in the historic Science Hill. Every aspect of Shelby County, The Good Land, Good Living and Good People that make up this wonderful place that we call home.
19 of those Good People that came together, some of us meeting for the first time, but now all of us good friends. The network we have established will only make us stronger as Leaders in Shelby County. I have been blessed to be a part of the 2022 Leadership Class. While our time as the class of Leadership Shelby has come to an end, I look forward to serving on the Leadership Shelby Board over the next year and cannot wait to watch the class of 2023 experience Shelby County as we have this year. Thank You Darlene Snow for guiding us through these past 9 months you were, yes, Fabulous!
